HIV

HIV is one of the major health crises of today. Since the first cases were diagnosed in the US in the early 1980s, an estimated 78 million people have been infected with the virus and 39 million have died from AIDS or related diseases. There are currently 36.9 million cases worldwide, according to UNAIDS.

In Chile, the HIV/AIDS epidemic began in 1984 with the detection of 6 cases. Today, it is estimated that we have more than 71,000 people living with HIV, of which 61,660 have been diagnosed.

With high sensitivity and specificity, this 4th generation test is certified by the Public Health Institute, making it a powerful tool that helps us reduce the dormant phase, allowing us to detect HIV cases at times when people have a high capacity for infection.
