ensayos a partir de espec\u00edmenes cl\u00ednicos al lado de o cerca del paciente, bajo la premisa que los resultados de las pruebas estar\u00e1n disponibles de inmediato, o dentro de un per\u00edodo de tiempo muy breve (usualmente minutos), con el objetivo de proveer informaci\u00f3n \u00fatil al personal de salud en la toma de decisiones referentes al diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro del mercado global de pruebas de laboratorio in vitro, el segmento de Point of Care es el que m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido crecimiento ha experimentado en la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, el \u00e1rea de pruebas de enfermedades infecciosas es la que m\u00e1s crece en este tipo de pruebas. Con el objetivo de diagnosticar infecciones r\u00e1pidamente, estas son capaces de determinar el tratamiento oportuno, limitar la propagaci\u00f3n de los agentes y retardar o prevenir
