Point-of-care testing is defined as the practice of performing tests on clinical specimens at or near the patient’s side, with the premise that test results will be available immediately, or within a very short period of time (usually minutes), with the goal of providing useful information to healthcare personnel in making decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>

Within the global in vitro laboratory testing market, the Point of Care segment is the one that has experienced the fastest growth in the last decade, with the area of \u200b\u200binfectious disease testing being the fastest growing in this type of testing.
